What is a bozzetto?
You may be familiar with maquette – the French term for a small model of a larger, intended sculptural endeavour. The Italian term bozzetto – which translates to sketch – also describes studies for finalized works. During an artist residency, a contemplative practice resulted in the first of these bozzetti and has continued to be a part of the artist’s studio life.
